An Herbal Apothecary and Integrative Clinic

Apothekara is both a fully stocked apothecary with a variety of dried local herbs, teas and herbal extracts, as well as an integrative clinic where clients stop in for consultations regarding herbal medicines used for health and wellbeing.  In a time of rising health care costs we support our clients through herbal medicine education in a time honored, affordable and effective approach to maintain health and energy.

Owner, herbalist and physician assistant, Kara Timmins offers a wealth of knowledge in both herbal medicine and clinical medicine to clients. She has studied herbal medicine for over 10 years, apprenticing with herbalists across N. America and is a graduate of Dominion Herbal College’s 4 year Clinical Herbal Therapy program. She is also a practicing Physician Assistant working in Vascular and Orthopedic Surgery at a hospital in Syracuse, NY.

Local herbalist, organic farmer and plant medicine maker, Amanda David of Rootwork Herbals brings the field to the apothecary with an assortment of herbal products, tea blends and tinctures. Dr. Nasri Ghaly of Ghaly’s Healing and Wellness Center in Syracuse, NY is an integrative psychiatrist and acupuncturist will provide acupuncture services for interested clients. Apothekara is also offering office space and workshop space to other local practitioners interested in herbal and integrative health.

We sell herbal teas from other local organic growers including Healing Spirits Herb Farm, and products from EarthMama Baby and Heartstone Herbal School. As well as a plethora of fair trade fine black, oolong and green drinking teas, lotions, soaps, essential oils, flower essences, local honey and salves. We also offer both locally grown and exotic cooking spices. We sell variety of steepware and tea making supplies to aid our clients in their herbal tea drinking odyssey!
