Handwork

Handwork, Ithaca’s Cooperative Craft Store, was started in 1976 by 12 local craftspeople. Working together they could afford the cost and time of opening a retail shop to sell their work. Handwork now has approximately 40 member artisans doing a range of work that includes pottery, woodworking, glass, jewelry, fiber arts, wearable arts, leather, paper and art.

A true cooperative, Handwork is owned and staffed by it members. Handwork also carries a selection of work from other craftspeople from across the country. Handwork members meet monthly to share information, decision making and jury new member-applicants.

A cooperative, owned and operated by more than thirty local artists and craftspeople, Handwork offers an ever-changing selection of fine quality crafts in a range of media, as well as a selection of outstanding crafts from around the country.

Located on The Commons in downtown Ithaca, NY, Handwork is a must-see for visitors to the Finger Lakes region.

Monday - Wednesday 10:00am-6:00pm; Thursday - Friday 10:00am-9:00pm; Saturday 10:00am-6:00pm; Sunday Noon-5:00pm
