Do you enjoy the showiness of hibachi cooked right in front of you and the customizability of frozen yogurt shops? Put them together and you’ve got Thai-style “fried ice cream,” now available at 15 Below Ice Cream, a brand-new dessert shop on the west end of the Ithaca Commons.
Customers can watch as an employee prepares their order on a frozen pan. The tasty treat is crafted by quickly blending frozen milk with assorted flavors on the slab. The ice cream is then flattened with a spatula and molded into “fried” rolls. Toppings – cookies, fruit, candy and/or sauce – are then added to the rolls.
The starting cost for each combo is $5 and includes four or five fried ice cream rolls and three to four toppings. More toppings may be added for an additional charge.
