Come with an open mind\, and a readiness to think creatively about fundraising for your own creative practice. \nAnna Warfield is a visual artist based in Binghamton\, New York. Warfield is experienced in crowdfunding through her work as an executive team member with LUMA Projection Arts Festival in Binghamton\, New York and her own donor sponsored creative endeavors. Warfield has contributed as a guest speaker with NYFA\, Cornell University\, Binghamton University\, and SUNY Oneonta. She has worked on projects with and for a number of artists and institutions including; Na Chainkua Reindorf (Venice Biennale\, Ghana Pavillon\, 2022)\, Carrie Mae Weems (The Shape of Things\, Park Avenue Armory\, 2021)\, and LUMA Projection Arts Festival (Production Director\, 2020 – 2022; Consultant\, 2023; Small Works Curator\, 2024).

He’d do anything to make his parents change their minds and keep the family together. When a stranger offers a flute made of bone that supposedly grants the player’s wish\, Sam doesn’t really believe it will work but figures he has nothing to lose. Surprisingly\, the wish on the skeleton flute comes true. The next day\, his parents are happily in love\, with no plans for his dad to leave. But there’s a major problem: his parents’ relationship isn’t the only thing in his life that has changed\, and some of the changes are definitely for the worse. Caught in a world full of unintended consequences and familiar strangers\, Sam has limited options for returning to his old life—worries\, challenges\, and all. Transgender people have never been more visible in our society than right now. There is evidence that transgender and gender diverse people benefit greatly when they have the support\, love\, and acceptance of their parents and families. Grandparents have an opportunity to play a crucial role in family dynamics and contribute to positive outcomes for their loved ones. Grandparents who become aware that their grandchild’s gender identity doesn’t match the sex assigned to them at birth can feel confused and alone. While the field of knowledge in this area is growing at a very fast pace\, many therapists\, counsellors\, teachers\, and school administrators remain unskilled and uninformed when it comes to working with transgender or gender diverse children and their parents\, grandparents\, and other family members. DESCRIPTION:The Northeast & Mid-Atlantic regions of Puppeteers of America\, proudly present “Puppet Homecoming 2024” our next biannual regional puppetry festival to be held for the first time in the commons section of Ithaca\, NY. Are you a fan of the art of puppetry\, or maybe you’re not sure yet. Our festival will have something for all puppet interest\, from the puppet-curios to the professionals. We will have some family friendly shows and workshops as well as more advanced ones as well. This festival will feature 7 unique shows\, 21 different workshops\, street performances\, a Puppet SLAM (short form curated adult themed puppetry performances)\, a Potpourri (an open mic for puppeteers)\, a public puppetry store\, and a parade. The official festival will run from Friday November 1st through Sunday November 3rd\, and will have a separate professional day on Monday November 4th for PIET (Puppeteers in Education & Therapy). This festival is open to everyone\, however if you are a member of Puppeteers of America (PofA) you will get a discount (pro-tip\, the discount is the same price of a PofA membership).
