The Bloomwell offers natural beauty and wellness products
ITHACA, NY OCTOBER 21, 2019 — The Bloomwell, a new natural beauty and wellness shop, is now open in downtown Ithaca.
This new specialty shop sells natural beauty and skincare products, handcrafted home goods, and artisan jewelry. With values of simplicity and sustainability, The Bloomwell is a place for mindful consumers to connect with ethical makers and discover quality goods.
“The Bloomwell was born out of a rejection of the retail status quo and the idea of blind mass consumption. Instead, we wanted to craft a space of transparency and discovery that highlights the people and process behind each product,” says The Bloomwell Co-Founder Johanna Baena, a Cornell University alum.
The Bloomwell is located at 111 West State St., adjacent to Ithaca’s landmark State Theatre. The specialty shop is open from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesdays-Saturdays, and 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Sundays.
“It is an exciting time to open The Bloomwell and be a part of all the growth happening in downtown Ithaca,” says co-founder Zach Wasmer. “We are happy to be part of a supportive community that values small businesses and what they bring to the market.”
The Downtown Ithaca Alliance (DIA), City of Ithaca, and Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce will host a welcoming ceremony for The Bloomwell at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7. The public is welcome to attend this special event.
“We’re glad Johanna Baena and Zach Wasmer recognized the downtown Ithaca community as the place to start their specialty business. We look forward to next month’s ceremony where we will officially welcome The Bloomwell to downtown’s group of extremely unique specialty shops, restaurants, and businesses,” says DIA Executive Director Gary Ferguson.
The Bloomwell joins a lengthy list of new businesses to recently open in downtown Ithaca, including Angelhearts Diner, Nowhere Special Libations Parlor, Mane and Wigs, One Ring Donuts, Equus Advisors Ithaca branch, Bike Bar Ithaca, and Canopy Hotel by Hilton.
