BlocPower “BlocParty” Community Event
April 22, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm
FreeOn Earth Day (April 22), BlocPower will be hosting a fun and informative community “BlocParty” in Washington Park to celebrate Ithaca’s pioneering efforts to prioritize climate change and update residents on the Electrify Ithaca program.
Residents can meet BlocPower’s new Ithaca program manager Ethan Bodnaruk – a former civil engineer with Ithaca’s Department of Public Works – who will answer questions about the program. Ithaca’s Acting Director of Sustainability Rebecca Evans will also be on hand to provide information about Ithaca’s Green New Deal and other climate initiatives.
Event sponsors BlocPower, Daikin and Fujitsu will provide food from Ithaca’s NuSpice Catering at no cost. Daikin and Fujitsu will also give live demonstrations of energy efficient air source heat pumps, and other community partners will share information related to climate justice and environmental education.
Ithaca’s DJ Evo Evolution will provide music, with games and giveaways hosted by community groups such as Citizens’ Climate Lobby, Community Science Institute, Mothers Out Front, Dryden Rail Trail Task Force, Cornell Cooperative Extension, Sunrise Movement, Healthy Workforce Network and more!
