Located in the heart of the historic Ithaca Commons at 119 E State St, Bookies combines a relaxed sports-bar vibe with an elevated lounge atmosphere. The spacious venue features 16 HDTVs (ranging from 55″–100″) to broadcast big games live. Patrons can enjoy a diverse menu of wings, appetizers, entrees, craft beers, signature cocktails, and a curated wine list—all served by a friendly, welcoming staff. Chanticleer
Don’t let appearances fool you! Possessing a certain je ne sais quoi, the Chanti is Ithaca’s most beloved dive bar. Not only is it Ithaca’s oldest surviving tavern, but it is arguably the oldest downtown business. Its laid back, dingy interior has continued to attract an eclectic mix of graduate students and townies alike for decades. Pool tables, friendly, knowledgeable bartenders, and a great lineup on the jukebox has made it a favorite watering hole for the town as long as we can remember.

Located in the heart of Restaurant Row on Aurora Street, the Ithaca Ale House is an American bar and grill with an extensive, ever changing selection of 20 tap craft beers with brews from all over the country.
A great place to meet for drinks and appetizers, or a full blown dinner with friends, the Ale House offers tasty appetizers, salads and soups, an extensive selection of burgers, and dinner entrees ranging from sandwiches to heaping plates of salad, a large selection of dinner entrees, and an assortment of flatbread pizzas. Mercato Bar & Kitchen
Mercato’s Bar and Kitchen offers Italian inspired seasonally-conscious cuisine, a friendly professional waitstaff, and a clean urban-bistro aesthetic. Offering an upscale menu that changes seasonally, try the cured meats appetizer with a selection of meats, cheeses and olives, the fresh market fish and herbs steamed in parchment paper, or the homemade gnocchi. For dessert, Mercato recommends trying its pine nut tart drizzled with balsamic reduction and served with cappuccino-flavored gelato.
Mercato does not take reservations; be sure to arrive early, put your name on the list and have a drink at the bar while you wait.
Mia Tapas Bar & Restaurant
Mia Restaurant offers Pan-Asian cuisine, the combination of the ingredients and flavors of several ethnic dishes. Owned by Lex Chutintaranond, one of Ithaca’s top restaurateurs and the founder of some of Ithaca’s most popular eateries – including Just a Taste, Madeline’s, and ZaZa’s Cucina. Mia Restaurant uses local produce, sustainably harvested seafood, and hormone & antibiotic free meats in their delicious Pan-Asian cuisine. Try the watercress and jicama salad with goji berries, the Ahi tuna steak with wakame miso and Japanese mustard sauce, or the fried red snapper Kerala style with southern Indian curry.

Moonies Bar & Nightclub
With its unique blend of a high energy, clubby atmosphere combined with a vintage tavern feel, ‘Moonies’ is a popular nightlife destination with the college and party crowd. Moonshadow’s space significantly increased in 2010 with the addition of a dance floor that offers plenty of room to get your groove on.
In addition to darts, a pool table and lounge areas, Moonshadow’s features a one of a kind bar top made from custom concrete that features hundreds of fiber optics set inside of the stone that illuminate the entire bar. Live DJs rock the dance floor 5 nights a week (Tues-Sat.)

The Lotus
The Lotus, located at 101 N Aurora St in Ithaca, New York, is a Korean fusion restaurant specializing in Korean-style fried chicken, noodle and rice dishes, and Korean BBQ. Their menu features items such as bibimbap, kimchi bokkeum, and tteok-bokki, offering a blend of traditional Korean flavors with a modern twist.
The Rook
The Rook is a small neighborhood restaurant serving upscale (meat centric) comfort food and drinks with casual vibes. Located in the Library Place building at the intersection of Cayuga and Court Streets, The Rook has been serving the Ithaca community since 2016. Come by for a drink at the bar, or leisurely dinner and wine with friends.
The Upstairs Bar and Venue
Lot 10 is Ithaca’s only two-floor cocktail lounge and nightclub. The Upstairs Bar and Venue at Lot 10 features daily drink specials, live entertainment, DJ’s, and dancing, along with a pool table, dartboard, and jukebox. The Upstairs is the perfect destination for cutting loose and unwinding with friends.
Downstairs at Lot 10 features a sophisticated cocktail lounge that is second to none. Viva! Taqueria & Cantina
Founded in 1995, Viva Taqueria brings to Ithaca a California-style taqueria that offers healthy and delicious Mexican food at reasonable prices.
Viva Cantina, a full service restaurant located next door to the Taqueria (take-out), offers margaritas made with fresh lime juice, a huge selection of premium tequilas, Mexican and local beers, and fresh sangria. Viva’s menu features tacos, burritos, quesadillas, enchiladas, soups and salads, and more. Items from the Cantina menu are available for takeout in the Taqueria.
