Kickoff meeting of the Southern Tier Chapter of Nuclear NY, a nonprofit organization that educates and advocates for nuclear power as part of the energy mix for a sustainable, prosperous, energy abundant future.

We’ll spend an hour at the Tompkins County Library Borg Warner room and then head over to the Monks on the Commons (120 S Aurora Street) to continue conversations and community building in an informal setting.

Agenda: 6-7 pm at the library, 7-8 pm out for drinks/social
* Very brief intros (5 mins)
* Short intro to “Why Nuclear Power?” (5 mins)
* Short intro to the NYS Blueprint for Advanced Nuclear Power (5 mins)
* Purpose and history of Nuclear NY with guest hosts from downstate and potentially other nuclear orgs (20 mins)
* Actions we can take to support nuclear (10 mins). You could bring a laptop so you can submit advocacy emails in real time.
* Discuss ways folks want to get involved, connections we have to relevant organizations, rotating meeting locations across the Southern Tier, etc. (15 mins)

7 pm – 8 pm
Walk over to the Monks on the Commons (Marriott Ithaca Downtown) and hang out to get to know each other better.
