Experimental exhibits, entertaining demonstrations, educational talks all part of the virtual and in-person art show
OCTOBER 1, 2020 ITHACA, NY — Downtown Ithaca will host Gallery Night presented by Tompkins Trust Company tomorrow, October 2. This month’s show will include interactive virtual art exhibits, entertaining demonstrations, educational talks from local artists along with a walkable tour of art exhibits at galleries and businesses throughout the downtown community.
The online art show demonstrations and informative chats will run from 5 to 8 p.m. on Gallery Night’s and Downtown Ithaca’s Facebook pages while the virtual galleries will be available on downtownithaca.com/gallerynightithaca.
This month’s virtual galleries feature art pieces curated by more than 40 highly skilled artists from the Community Arts Partnership and The Ink Shop. At the same time, window displays showcasing creations from additional artists will be available at the Community School of Music and Arts and Gimme Coffee. In-person exhibits will be on display at State of the Art Gallery, Sacred Root Kava Lounge & Tea Bar, Press Cafe, and Hilton Garden Inn.
The art exhibits for this month’s show were created by Diana Ozolins and Saundra Goodman, Sebastián Chave, Daniela Rivero, and Paloma Barhaugh-Bordas, Limerick Studio Printmakers, Myztico Campo, Penelope Trolltooth, Kari Zelson Robertson, and the Greater Ithaca Art Trail Group.
For Gallery Night’s participants who plan to view the window and in-person exhibits, the Downtown Ithaca Alliance advises guests to wear a face mask or facial covering while exploring these exhibits. Also, provide plenty of social distancing among your group and be courteous of other individuals or groups viewing the art. For those who are unable to attend the October 2 experience, you’ll be able to view the virtual and storefront windows exhibits throughout the month.
