Community Arts Partnership Launches Creative Recovery Fund

Ithaca, NY, March 31, 2021 – The Community Arts Partnership of Tompkins County has launched a new Creative Recovery Fund, supported by the Community Foundation of Tompkins County.

By donating to this fund, you’ll support area artists and art groups to address the quadruple pandemics of COVID-19, economic recession, racism, and climate disaster. The fund will provide small grants to artists and arts groups to engage in meaningful artmaking that will make a difference in our community’s recovery in one or more of the focus areas of racial justice, public and mental health, economic recovery, and climate disaster.

The Community Foundation of Tompkins County generously seeded the fund with $11,000, and the Community Arts Partnership is looking to match that gift now with contributions from individuals and businesses.

Community Arts Partnership Executive Director, Megan Barber, shares, “Last year our Emergency Artist Relief Fund channeled the support of art lovers around the county and supported more than 60 artists with needed financial support at a time of great need.” She goes on to add, “The Creative Recovery Fund is the next iteration, with the goal of helping Tompkins County leverage our creative power, putting creative workers to work rebuilding, reimagining, unifying, and healing our communities.”

Donations to the Creative Recovery Fund can be made at www.artspartner.org/give. 100% of donations to the fund will go directly to artists and art groups.
