Residents and visitors are welcome to begin parking at the reconstructed Green Street Garage on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2022. Monthly parking passes will be available for purchase from the City Chamberlain’s Office beginning Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2022.

The garage has 268 parking spaces available, and a total of 334 spaces will be provided once garage work is completed next year. One of the garage’s new features, a vehicle occupancy display system, tells potential customers how many spaces are available in the garage at any given time. 

“The reopening of this new portion of the Green Street Garage is great news for Downtown and the community. Patrons will find a new facility with ample parking close to many key downtown destinations — the Commons, Cinemapolis, the Library, and City Hall, to name a few. This garage is a crucial asset for our community, and we are grateful to the City of Ithaca for spearheading its rebuild and expansion” said Gary Ferguson, executive director of the Downtown Ithaca Alliance.
