Downtown Ithaca hosting Back to School Giveaway Contest for Cornell, Ithaca College, and Tompkins Cortland students

Back to School 10-Day Giveaway Starts September 8th

September 4, 2020 —  The Downtown Ithaca Alliance is hosting a contest on Instagram where Cornell University, Ithaca College, and Tompkins Cortland Community College students will be able to enter for a chance to win baskets filled with products and gift cards from downtown businesses, each basket valued at $75 or more.

Downtown Ithaca’s 10-Day Back to School Giveaway begins on September 8 and runs through September 18. Prizes will be featured daily on Downtown Ithaca’s Instagram profile, @downtownithaca. This contest is sponsored by the Downtown Ithaca Alliance. It is no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with Instagram.

The contest prizes include gift certificates to popular dining spots Moosewood Restaurant, Ithaca Ale House, Mama Said Handpies, Waffle Frolic, Pizza Aroma, One Ring Donuts, Gorgers, Collegetown Bagels, Monks on The Commons, and Press Cafe and to specialty shops including Ithaca Guitar Works, Odyssey Bookstore, Cayuga Nail Spa, Hair Color Art, Buffalo Street Books, Trader K’s, Comics For Collectors, and The Outdoor Store.

The baskets will also contain a mix of fantastic items from Buffalo Street Books, Benjamin Peters, Breathe, 15 STEPS, Handwork, Ithacamade, Mockingbird Paperie, One World Market, Petrune, The Brain Shoppe, The Bloomwell, T-Shirt Express, Mane & Wigs, The Cornell Store on the Commons, Bool’s Flower Shop, Sunny Days, Cat’s Pajamas, American Crafts by Robbie Dein, Sew Green, Old Goat Gear Exchange, Alphabet Soup, Your CBD Store, and Local First Ithaca. Plus, a $100 grand prize Downtown Ithaca Gift Card will be awarded on the last day of the contest, redeemable at over 100 specialty shopping and dining locations in downtown!

For CU, IC and TC3 students to enter for a chance to win a basket, they simply need to follow Downtown Ithaca’s Instagram account, and then each day they want to enter for a specific basket they must complete an entry form at The winner(s) will be contacted by email and can claim their prize at the business that provides the product or service. Special arrangements will be made with students who are taking classes remotely.
