| The Downtown Ithaca Alliance is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. To honor this significant milestone and celebrate downtown’s many achievements, its team is hosting a big party next month.
You’re invited to the 25th Anniversary Celebration happening Thursday, Oct. 13 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the historic State Theatre, 107 W. State St., Ithaca. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for a cocktail hour with a cash bar serving beers, wines, and ciders (21+ w/ID)
During this special engagement, the DIA will recognize the corporate, elected, entrepreneurial, and community leaders who were instrumental in Downtown Ithaca’s ongoing development in 2021. The DIA will present seven awards in the following categories: City Partner Recognition, Economic Development Project, Downtown Nonprofit Partner of the Year, Special Events Partner of the Year, Board Member of the Year, Downtown Business of the Year, and Lifetime Achievement Award.
Plus, you’ll be treated to food stations serving gourmet treats prepared by chefs from popular local restaurants and eateries (vegan and vegetarian options will be available). Come mingle with Ithaca’s top business, philanthropy, and government leaders, and dance the night away while enjoying a special performance by Ithaca’s popular hip-hop group, Gunpoets
“Through partnerships and public and private investments, Downtown has become a vibrant community center. Through the hard work of many people, including those working in our organization, this area is growing. As a result, we’re seeing incredible opportunities pop up for folks who want to live, work, seek services, and play in the urban core. This anniversary celebration is an opportunity to recognize those community achievements and pay tribute to some of our most outstanding examples of success during the past year,” says Ferguson.
