SewGreen: Sewing camps

SewGreen summer sewing camps are back! We have changed a few things to stay safe, but the thrill of learning new skills and having fun is a constant. Camps are for beginners or anyone who already knows how to sew. Our primary focus is on using a sewing machine to make a variety of projects. Creativity is encouraged. Everyone succeeds, and every day is filled with fun and accomplishment.

Camp size is limited to four, led by a trained counselor. Camps are held in the morning or afternoon at SewGreen’s new sewing studio. Sewing machines are supplied. Each camper has a separate sewing station and its own set of tools. The space is well-ventilated and will be sanitized every day before the morning and afternoon camps. The History Center: Youth Education

While the focus of its programs is the history of Tompkins County, it strives to tie local developments to the nation’s history. The History Center’s programs and exhibits are open to youth of all abilities. Tompkins County Public Library: Makerspace

Register for a one-on-one session in the maker space with the Library Assistant to use our laser cutter, sewing machines, 3-D printer, or Cricut. Sessions are one hour and a maximum of two people are allowed in the makerspace at a time. If you are learning how to use a machine, raw materials can be provided. Please bring in your own materials for personal projects. Masks or face coverings are required while in the makerspace. Library staff reserves the right to cancel additional appointment bookings to allow room for other participants to learn. Ages 16+ only.
