We celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day as a national holiday, which takes place on the third Monday of January each year. This day serves as a day of remembrance for King, who was killed in Memphis in 1968. This year, MLK Jr. Day will be celebrated on Monday, Jan. 17.
Downtown Ithaca offers the following experiences to help us remember Dr. Martin Luther King’s life and legacy:

- MLK Sculpture on the Commons
- Autumn Leaves Used Bookstore, Buffalo Street Books, Odyssey Bookstore, Tompkins County Public Library each offer reading materials related to and/or about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
