Roll up your sleeve for the shot and ride TCAT free for an entire week
Now through mid-July, when you show proof you’ve received your first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, you will be eligible for a free TCAT unlimited weekly pass, thanks to an initiative from New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
Earlier this week, the governor’s office announced a partnership with TCAT and five other of the state’s public transportation providers to incentivize New Yorkers to get vaccinated. Those eligible include anyone who receives their first dose of Pfizer or Moderna or the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine at any provider in New York State between June 15 and July 14. Passes can be redeemed no later than July 14.
To obtain a TCAT pass (retail value $17.50), please bring your vaccine card to TCAT’s headquarters, 737 Willow Ave., Ithaca, from 1 to 5 p.m. Mon.-Fri. If you have questions, call (607) 277-RIDE (7433) or email us at tcat@tcatmail.com. (Please write “pass for vaccine” in the subject line.)
“Our incentive programs have pushed more New Yorkers to pull up their sleeve and have helped get us to the brink of crossing that critical threshold in our statewide vaccination rate,” Governor Cuomo said in a news release from his office. “The vaccine continues to be our single best weapon against the virus, and if you get your first shot by July 14, you will qualify for seven days of free transportation at one of six major public transportation networks in Upstate New York.”
