TCPL launches Summer Reading Programs for Kids, Teens, and Adults

Tompkins County Public Library is offering summer reading programs for kids, teens, and adults, beginning Saturday, June 26 and continuing through Saturday, August 7. Opportunities for outdoor and virtual programs, games, and prizes are available for all ages!

Kids Summer Adventure, for ages 0-10, will kick off with an online event featuring The Great and Powerful Dave on Saturday, June 26 from 2:00 to 2:30 pm. David Moreland’s virtual magic and comedy show is recommended for kids ages 4 through 10; families can register at https://www.tcpl.org/events/summer-adventure-kick-great-powerful-dave. Following the kickoff kids and caregivers can participate by downloading game sheets (at https://www.tcpl.org/using-library/just-you/youth-services) and will get a free book just for participating! The 2021 Summer Adventure Program is made possible by a grant from the Bernard Carl and Shirley Rosen Library Fund of the Community Foundation of Tompkins County.

Teens (entering grades 6-12 or their homeschool equivalent) interested in summer reading can earn a free book by stopping by the library to register or visiting https://www.tcpl.org/teens. After completing the summer reading calendar, teens can get another free book and enter into a raffle for gift card prizes.

Information about the Adult Summer Reading program can be found on the TCPL website at https://www.tcpl.org/adult-summer-reading and on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/groups/tcpladultreadingprograms. Participation earns a ticket in the prize drawing in August.
